Equilibrium appoint new bass player

German epic metal pioneers EQUILIBRIUM have officially announced the appointment of their new bass player Makki.

The band has released a statement following Makki‘s introduction:

“This time, we decided to take our time to pick a new member. We could’ve come up with the idea to hire Makki as our new bass player much earlier, since he has been on the road with us as our tour manager for many years and has already toured the world on his own. He has always been a part of the family and now we are happy to welcome him on stage with us!”

Makki himself also commented on the news, “July 2004: After a show, I’m buying this CD named ‘Demo 2003’ from our opening act ‘EQUILI…what?’, to support that rising underground act… and BAM! Twelve years later I am standing on stage together with EQUILIBRIUM. I am very grateful for the long friendship with the EQUI-family and I can’t wait for the upcoming adventures and shows together with the best fans in the world! See you on the next gig…”

Makki will join EQUILIBRIUM on stage throughout their upcoming European festival run and autumn tour dates. The news also comes on the brink of the band preparing to drop their fifth studio record, Armageddon, which is set for release on August 12th.

The band recently released the lyric video for the brand new track Born To Be Epic, which can be watched below:

Armageddon is set for release on August 12th via Nuclear Blast Records.
