INTRODUCING: Beyond The Black

Founded in 2014, German Symphonic Metal band BEYOND THE BLACK have been making waves for a couple of years now. If you haven’t caught on to this sextet, now is your opportunity.

Consisting of Jennifer Haben (Vocals), Stefan Herkenhoff (Bass), Chris Hermsdörfer and Tobias Lodes (Guitar/Backing vocals), Jonas Roßner (Keyboards) and Kai Tschierschky (Drums) these guys mean business. For starters, their live debut in 2014 at WACKEN OPEN AIR is pretty impressive. Following this, they swiftly caught the attention of the right people and travelled supporting SAXON on their UK tour.

Their debut album Songs of Love and Death was released on February 13th 2015, reaching into the German top 20. The music was crisp, fluid, and yet still the undertones of Heavy Metal run though under Haben’s stunning vocals. From this success, they went on a whirlwind of a year in 2015, touring with QUEENSRŸCHE in Holland and WITHIN TEMPTATION in Switzerland, and their incredible ascent culminated in them receiving the Best Debut Album 2015 Metal Hammer Award. BEYOND THE BLACK also toured in the spring and autumn of that year on their own back, to great success.

Not content with that rolling momentum, their second album Lost In Forever was released in Germany in 2016, reaching number 4 in the charts. Much like the album before it, the music was pure Symphonic Metal at it’s best. Holding on to strong vocals, the melodies are complex enough to be original, and still contain the beauty that defines the genre. From then on, they had several tours including being on the road with POWERWOLF and EPICA, and a highlight of touring in November, supporting THE SCORPIONS 50th Anniversary Tour around France and Germany. No mean feat for a band in just a short amount of time, right?

With Lost In Forever due for release in the UK mid-January, now is the perfect time to acquaint yourself with the power and force of their music. Not forgetting that these guys have played many festivals – they have performances at WITH FULL FORCE, WACKEN OPEN AIR, BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR and SUMMERBREEZE OPEN AIR behind them, it’s clear that there should and most probably will be many huge shows coming up for BEYOND THE BLACK, and their moment is coming soon. Be ready, and get on board!
