Welsh doom metal outfit MAMMOTH WEED WIZARD BASTARD have announced a brand new studio record!
The record, titled Y Proffwyd Dwyll, comes just nine months after the band’s explosive debut. The album title is taken from Old North Welsh and roughly can be translated to False Prophet, and the record is the second part of a trilogy.
Alongside the announcement of the new record, MAMMOTH WEED WIZARD BASTARD have released the first track from the record. You can listen to the title track, Y Proffwyd Dwyll here:
Speaking about the track, the band describes the track as, “an old story of a group of people being led into a barren wasteland by a false prophet who they thought would save them from a disease they were all dying from. The track features Jess playing cello in the breakdown. Strings can be very powerful and dark. Prokoviev, Berlioz and Beethoven used strings to this end and we wanted some of that drama before the drums and all the guitars kick in. It gives it a really evil power.”
Y Proffwyd Dwyll is set for release on September 30th via New Heavy Sounds.
