Nightwish release first live video for new DVD ‘Vehicle of Spirit’
Finnish symphonic metal giants NIGHTWISH have released the first video from their upcoming live DVD package, entitled Vehicle of Spirit.
The video for Shudder Before The Beautiful, which was recorded at the London show in Wembley, is the first live material released from their Endless Forms Most Beautiful tour. Other popular tracks from NIGHTWISH, such as Storytime and Nemo, feature on the DVD.

Here’s what NIGHTWISH keyboardist and songwriter Tuomas Holopainen had to say about the title for their latest live DVD:
“The title Vehicle of Spirit came from a friend of Troy’s, who after seeing our show a few years ago defined NIGHTWISH as ‘A vehicle of spirit that defies category’. That beautiful description has followed us ever since, and felt like a perfect match as the DVD title.”
The cover artwork for Vehicle of Spirit is unlike that of their previous live material, as Tuomas explains:
“We didn’t want to include a traditional band shot for the cover, as on the previous DVD release Showtime, Storytime. So we started brainstorming on different options and the idea of a classic silent movie era Hollywood visuals quickly came up. With those classic slogans the cover has a little tongue-in-cheek-touch to it, but it’s still classy and eye catching in its simplicity and originality.”
Vehicle of Spirit is to be released on DVD from December 9th, featuring two full concerts from the band, and bonus material to satisfy the masses. Featuring new pyro effects and wind machines, NIGHTWISH’s tour did not disappoint aesthetically nor musically, with sold out arenas making it one of their most successful.
