Damnation Festival announce five new bands
Five new bands have been announced for this year’s Damnation Festival!
Following their last announcement, which saw ENSLAVED (performing Below The Lights in its entirety) added to the A Night Of Salvation, now, another five bands have been announced for the same pre-show!
British death metallers CELESTIAL SANCTUARY, UK stoner riff-lords TUSKAR (performing Matriarch in its entirety), UK thrashers INHUMAN NATURE, OHHMS and Enigmatic UK black metal outfit THE SUN’S JOURNEY THROUGH THE NIGHT will all perform at the festival’s pre-show. The five bands will grace the Church Road Records Stage, representing their label.
Speaking about the bands added to the lineup, Sammy, of Church Road Records, says, “over the last couple of years CELESTIAL SANCTUARY have been one of the shining lights in the UK death metal scene. Seeing them grow from their first bedroom based demo tape, right up to selling out headline shows and supporting death metal royalty like OBITUARY has been a trip, and this is only the beginning. The New Wave of British Death Metal is here to stay!
The pure ballistic energy that INHUMAN NATURE possesses is matched only by the intensity of their live show. As soon as the band plays the first note of their set you will feel compelled to bang your head and to thrash like a beast. Get your battle jacket and prepare for war!
The music created by the elusive ‘No One’ grows more intriguing with each release, as does the persona surrounding this shadowy figure. THE SUN’S JOURNEY THROUGH THE NIGHT have only been in existence since 2019 but have already released a string of releases that many believe to be seminal in the burgeoning black metal scene. Hail No One.”
Justine, of Church Road Records, says, “a two-piece that sounds like a 10-piece, this duo have been making a name for themselves with their dark brooding doom and relentlessly riff-heavy songs. Their latest album Matriarch is a must listen for any fan of the riff!
After releasing their horror fuelled album Rot, OHHMS are ready to take Damnation by the jugular for their 10th anniversary as a band!”
Damnation Festival 2023 takes place at BEC Arena, Manchester on November 3rd-4th 2023. Tickets are available now and can be purchased here.
