Kaonashi release new music video for ‘Humiliation Ritual’
KAONASHI have released a new music video!
The new music video, for the track Humiliation Ritual, follows previous singles Blood Red Camry Dance Party and I Hate The Sound Of Car Keys and continues the story told on their 2018 EP Why Did You Do It? and 2021 full-length Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year.
Speaking about the track, vocalist Peter Rono comments, “Humiliation Ritual reveals the origin behind Morgan Montgomery’s bully role in our story, while also touching on the topic of Black discrimination. It also stands out as one of our most unconventional songs because of how it was written. Pao, our drummer and Alex Hallquist, our guitarist, completely improvised the music, tracking together live at the same time while watching each other through a studio window. After that, I recorded my vocals in one take to enhance the already chaotic feeling on the song. With such descriptive lyrics, we knew the video had to match that to give viewers the feeling Morgan felt.”
