D L G Z release new music video for ‘All Those Witches’
D L G Z have released a new music video!
The new music video, for the track All Those Witches, is taken from the French experimental rock quintet’s latest album Setbacks & Reversals, which was released last month via Do It Youssef, Araki Records and Pied De Biche. The video was created by directors Kiki Bronx.
Speaking about the video, the band comment, “All Those Witches made us want to talk about the painful memories we bury deep in our memory and which resurface to torment us. We told ourselves the story of a romantic break-up and imagined representing these memories of life together by everyday objects suffocating in plastic bags. Following the construction of the song, we thought of the clip as a contemplative installation of ‘living still lifes’ that evolves in tension and ends in a burlesque fiasco“.
Speaking about the collaboration with Kiki Bronx, the band add, “We’ve been following Kiki Bronx‘s work for a long time and we really like what they do, their aesthetic and their vocabulary. The idea was to get away from the imposed figures of the video clip by letting them create and freely develop their sensibility as visual artists and photographers. They conceived the clip as a succession of moving tableaux that come to life more and more as the track builds in intensity. It’s very pictorial and experimental, like a translation of the music and text into colours and matter. We’re very proud of the result, which fits both the world of Kiki Bronx and the spirit of the song.”
