envy release new song ‘Whiteout’

ENVY have released a brand new song!

The new song, titled Whiteout, is taken from the Japanese post-hardcore band’s upcoming new album, Eunoia, which is scheduled to be released in October this year, via Pelagic Records.

Speaking about the new song, guitarist Nobukata Kawai says, “I shared some short phrases with the band and we ended up writing the whole song based on those alone. The foundations of the song were completed in about an hour and a half, which was easily the fastest songwriting process for this album. I also came up with the mid-section arrangement on the spot, which is my favourite part. It felt like we were playing a song that already existed.”

Vocalist Tetsuya Fukagawa adds, “when I first heard the parts from Nobu, I immediately felt the intensity behind the song so I started writing lyrics right away and finished them in a few hours. Everything about ‘Whiteout’ came together so effortlessly, it just feels like a natural envy track.”
