Delilah Bon releases new song ‘Not The President’
DELILAH BON has released a brand new song!
The new song, titled Not The President, is the brand new single from the self-described ‘brat punk’ artist and marks her first new music since her new album, Evil, Hate Filled Female, which was released back in September, via self-release.
In the days following the US election, Delilah opened her inbox to her fans and was overwhelmed by a flood of messages from around the globe, from people who were struggling with the political climate and what it meant for the future. From women and young teenage girls to queer people, non-binary individuals, and fathers, fans shared their fear for the future.
“I had people reaching out, telling me my music gave them hope in a world that felt like it was taking a hundred steps back,” she shares. “The messages were overwhelming—some of them had never felt so alone or afraid for their safety. I cried the entire set at my Bristol show at The Exchange in November. Looking out at that beautiful, diverse crowd, seeing so many people from all walks of life screaming the lyrics, feeling a sense of safety and belonging— it pushed me over the edge. The hate I was seeing online, the hurt people were feeling, it made me want to combust with rage. But I realised that the world needs more than just rage right now. We need hope. The single artwork is a photo from that show. I will always remember that gig and the mutual love in that room.”
