Friends Of Friends release new song ‘Attention’

FRIENDS OF FRIENDS have released a brand new song!

The new song, titled Attention, is the brand new single from, the Gold Coast, Austrlia-based alternative rock band and follows on from last year’s debut EP, REAL LIFE, RIGHT NOW, which was released last year.

Speaking about the new song, vocalist Barnaby Baker shares, “every day we see something absolutely insane on our phones. It’s like, ‘Yeah, I know the world is falling apart, but did you see that cute video I sent you on Insta?’ We all know it. Either we can’t do anything about it, or we’re too scared to look too deep. But under all of that, I ironically just want a bit of attention on myself, and I feel both vein and owed at the same time. It’s a bit stupid, really.

It’s not a sad song. It’s furious, disillusioned, ironic, a bit fun-poking and hyper-aware. It’s the sound of someone who’s been told to be grateful, to calm down, to ‘go outside and touch grass’ – but who knows deep down that something real is missing. And maybe it’s already too late. Or maybe it’s not – and screaming about it is the last real thing left.”
