PHOTO GALLERY: Midgardsblot 2025

We here at Distorted Sound are delighted to share an extensive photo gallery of this year’s Midgardsblot!

Now in its tenth year, the annual festival is carving a special niche within the international festival circuit. Home to a blend of extreme metal and folk, the festival extends beyond a mere music festival, instead offering attendees a rich historic experience.

Held at Midgard Viking Centre in Borre, Norway, the museum is a former Viking settlement and largest burial mound site in Northern Europe. Throughout the festival weekend in August, alongside a lineup boasting everything from MAYHEM to TSJUDER, EIVØR to ORANSSI PAZUZU, HÄLLAS and MORK.

Alongside the music, the festival unveiled two carved wooden statues of Huginn and Muninn – two ravens of Odin – to join the Heimdall statue from 2023, and festival-goers experienced re-enactment fights, shamanic workshops and daily yoga and meditation workshops.
