Gong announce new album ‘Bright Spirit’
GONG have announced a brand new album!
The psychedelic institution will release Bright Spirit on March 13th via Kscope, marking the third and final part of a trilogy that began with 2019’s The Universe Also Collapses and continued with 2023’s Unending Ascending. Recorded with long-time collaborator Frank Byng, the album sees the band at their most adventurous and dream-driven yet.
To celebrate the announcement, the band have released a new single, The Wonderment, alongside its official video. The new song is the second single to be released from the upcoming album, following on from Stars In heaven, which was released in November last year.
Speaking about the track, frontman Kavus Torabi says, “structured around modulating glissando guitar and a pulsating analogue synth sequence, The Wonderment finds GONG in deeply meditative form. A mystical and explorative journey both inwards and outwards. Timeless and expansive, The Wonderment is another piece of the kaleidoscopic puzzle that makes up Bright Spirit.”
