Frontiers Label Group launches BLKIIBLK Records
Frontiers Label Group have announced the launch of BLKIIBLK Records, a new imprint dedicated to metal, hard rock, and extreme music!
Following major milestones in 2025 – including the release of BIOHAZARD and the upcoming January 23rd self‑titled final album from thrash legends MEGADETH – the label group now expands into heavier territory with this bold new chapter.
Alongside the launch, the company has appointed long‑running A&R figure Mike Gitter as Global Head of A&R for the entire Frontiers Label Group, as well as the executive leading BLKIIBLK Records. Gitter brings decades of experience, having signed and developed genre‑defining artists including LORNA SHORE, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, BAD RELIGION, ORBIT CULTURE, STARSET, and Grammy winners BODY COUNT at his previous posts with Century Media, Roadrunner, Razor & Tie, and Atlantic.
Speaking about his new role, Gitter states, “I’m proud to announce my joining the Frontiers Label Group team and helming BLKIIBLK. Frontiers is a company of passion. The mission statement is simple: to establish BLKIIBLK as a force on the heavy and extreme music spectrum that spans the gamut from the mainstays and driving forces of the genre to the most modern of metal to the grimiest of the underground. The common denominator is pushing boundaries with records and bands that are nothing short of vital, no matter what stage in their career.”
To coincide with the launch, BLKIIBLK have announced their first wave of signings:
– Bay Area thrash veterans FORBIDDEN
– New York hardcore legends CRO‑MAGS
– Portland gothic metal outfit UNTO OTHERS
– Cleveland’s long‑running extreme metal cult NUNSLAUGHTER
FORBIDDEN comments, “when FORBIDDEN was ‘reborn’ in 2023, we knew we were going to write new music… We are elated to announce that FORBIDDEN has joined forces with BLKIIBLK as one of their inaugural signings.” CRO‑MAGS frontman Harley Flanagan adds, “I’m looking forward to a new chapter for myself and CRO‑MAGS. I’ve never felt better in my life about my future, my music or my new partnership with BLKIIBLK. I’m ready to kick ass.”
UNTO OTHERS says, “as we continue to work on our fourth full‑length album, we are happy to follow our good friend and talented A&R man, Mike Gitter, to his new home at BLKIIBLK/Frontiers. May the coming year and upcoming album be a big one for all of us!”
From the underground, NUNSLAUGHTER’s Don of the Dead adds, “we’re ready to start the next chapter of our blasphemy as a band… We’re now taking things to a new level with our new congregation at BLKIIBLK while never turning our back on the underground.”
Looking ahead, BLKIIBLK will also release new music in 2026 from THE 69 EYES, TORTURED DEMON, THROWN INTO EXILE, TROPIC GOLD, WOR, and FIREWIND.
