Einar Solberg announces new album ‘Vox Occulta’

EINAR SOLBERG has announced a brand new album!

The Norwegian progressive artist best known as the frontman of LEPROUS, has announced his upcoming second solo album, Vox Occulta, which is set for release on April 24th, 2026, via InsideOut Music. The new record serves as the follow‑up to his 2023 solo debut 16, expanding on the deeply personal themes explored previously while embracing heavier, symphonic territory.

Recorded in collaboration with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, the album marks a bold next step in SOLBERG’s ongoing evolution as a solo composer. Alongside the orchestral arrangements, the album features contributions from drummer Keli Guðjónsson (AGENT FRESCO), violinist Chris Baum (BENT KNEE), guitarist Pierre Danel (NOVELISTS), bassist Jed Lingat, as well as guitarists Ben Levin (ex‑BENT KNEE) and John Browne (MONUMENTS). Vox Occulta was mixed by Adam Noble and co‑produced with David Castillo.

To celebrate the announcement, EINAR SOLBERG has released the album’s second track, Medulla, and issued an accompanying music video directed by Leo Liberti.

Speaking about the new track, he comments, “Medulla started with a riff. I had just picked up an 8-string plugin, and it immediately led me to that main idea. As soon as it came together, I knew it had weight. It felt physical — like something you feel in your bones rather than just hear. That’s where the idea of marrow came in. The song is about the part of me that stayed strong through everything I’ve been through. No matter what happened around it, the core held. There’s no full orchestra on this track, but it still has a cinematic edge. Chris Baum added real strings, and Keli, Pierre Danel, and Jed Lingat bring the song to life on drums, guitar, and bass.”
