Monolord announce new album ‘Neverending’

MONOLORD have announced a brand new album!

The Swedish heavy trio have confirmed their new full‑length, Neverending, set for release on May 29th via Relapse Records. The album marks their first in five years and the follow‑up 2021’s Your Time To Shine.

Recorded in Ashland, Oregon with legendary producer Sylvia Massy, the band worked through more than a decade of riffs and unused ideas, eventually refining the material down to eight final tracks. Vocalist/guitarist Thomas Jäger explains, “she asked me to send her everything we had – not just songs written for the album, but every stray riff and idea. I even sent her stuff I’d written ten years ago. She listened to all of it and sent us a list of what she wanted to work on.”

Alongside the announcement, MONOLORD have released the first single, You Bastard, accompanied by a video filmed during the recording sessions. Driven by a sharper tempo and a more immediate energy, the track signals a shift in the band’s sound. Jäger adds, “this isn’t really what people would call a doom album. It feels like a mix of that and something new.”

Drummer Esben Willems comments, “it’s been a wild ride and still is. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished along the way, and in many ways, this album feels like the essence of everything we’ve done so far. My mindset is the same it’s always been, to be the absolute best the three of us can be.”
