Finsterforst announce new album ‘Still’

FINSTERFORST have announced a brand new album!

The German folk metal outfit have announced a brand new album, Still, set for release on July 31st via AOP Records. The upcoming record marks the band’s sixth full-length effort, and their first since 2019, following on from their 2023 mini-album Jenseits, further building on the band’s expansive and genre-defying body of work.

The album follows the ambitious Jenseits release, which centred around a single, near 40-minute composition split into four suites. In contrast, Still sees the band return to more concise songwriting across nine tracks, while still retaining their trademark sense of scale across its 78-minute runtime. From towering aggression to melancholic passages and acoustic-led folk elements, the album intends to push the band’s signature contrasts further than ever before.

Alongside the announcement, the band have revealed the new single Stille Nacht, offering a first glimpse at the record’s sweeping scope and dynamic contrasts.
