Pure Reason Revolution announce new album ‘Terrifying Angels’
PURE REASON REVOLUTION have announced a brand new album!
Titled Terrifying Angels, the upcoming release from the British progressive alternative rock outfit is set for release on September 25th, via InsideOut Music. The band’s fourth album since reforming in 2019 follows 2024’s Coming Up To Consciousness and intends to see the band embracing a darker and heavier sound, combining savage riffs, ominous soundscapes, grungy textures, and the band’s trademark vocal harmonies.
The album features contributions from founding member Greg Jong, Paul Mullen (YOURCODENAMEIS:MILO, LOSERS), Mariusz Duda (LUNATIC SOUL), and Kristoffer Gildenlöw, while mixing duties were once again handled by Bruce Soord (THE PINEAPPLE THIEF).
Speaking about the album’s title, frontman Jon Courtney shares, “my initial thought of an angel was the cute kind of cherub, but traditionally angels aren’t cute or comforting figures. They’re often overwhelming, terrifying beings.” Discussing the musical direction of the record, he adds, “the last record was more chill, so it just felt terribly natural to do something grittier, heavier and more aggressive.”
Alongside the announcement, the band have released the new single, Spin Like Fire.
