downcast release new song ‘falling to pieces’
DOWNCAST have released a new song!
The new track, falling to pieces, marks the first new music of 2026 from the Bristol emo/alt-rock quartet, following on from last year’s single Home. Featuring a guest appearance from Tyler Zanon of YOUTH FOUNTAIN, the song is the band’s most personal release to date, exploring grief, loss, and acceptance through an intensely emotional lens.
Speaking about the track, vocalist Liam Edwards shares, “falling to pieces is about my little brother who passed away last September at the age of twenty-eight. He struggled with severe alcohol addiction for a long time, which eventually caused fatal medical complications.
The song was written during a time of confusion, before we understood exactly what took him from us. All I knew was that nothing could change what had happened. The song captures the anger and frustration I carried while learning to accept this.”
