Sleepwalk announce new album ‘View From The Outside’

SLEEPWALK have announced a brand new album!

The Chicago shoegaze outfit have revealed their new album, View From The Outside, which is scheduled for release on November 13th via MNRK Heavy. The upcoming record marks the band’s first full-length release in five years and follows on from 2021’s Underneath The Shade, while pushing their blend of shoegaze, 90s alternative rock and post-hardcore into heavier and more expansive territory.

Recorded at Earth Analog Studios in Illinois with producer Zac Montez (WHIRR, CLOAKROOM), View From The Outside sees SLEEPWALK broadening their sound while retaining the emotional weight and melodic hooks that have defined the band since their formation in 2015.

Guitarist Tyler Gargula explains, “we wanted to explore some sub-genres that weren’t explored in the same way before. There’s dreamy things that weren’t as intricate; more rocky things that are now very clearly rock focused; and even trip-hop on the album’s closing track.”

To coincide with the announcement, SLEEPWALK have also unveiled Sandbox, the lead single from the forthcoming record, alongside an accompanying music video.

Speaking about the new single, vocalist and guitarist Ryan Davis shares, Sandbox is about our frustration with the normalisation of conspiracy theory thinking that is proliferating throughout our culture as well as anger with the current administration/general MAGA movement.”
