Danheim release new song ‘Urblod’

DANHEIM have released a new single!

The Danish Nordic folk and ambient project of Copenhagen-based musician Reidar Schæfer Olsen has unveiled Urblod, a brand new standalone single released via Season Of Mist. The track follows Heimferd, the project’s 2025 label debut, and sees the project returning to the mythological storytelling that has defined much of his work.

Speaking about the new song, DANHEIM says, “I wanted this track to feel like a chant reaching back beyond the gods, toward the oldest beings in Norse mythology. The Jötnar are not simply monsters or enemies of the gods: they represent something much older, primordial forces, and the untamed world from which everything else emerges.”

Listen to Urblod here:

A ritualistic chant dedicated to the Jötnar and the primordial beings of Norse mythology, Urblod explores the ancient forces that predate the gods themselves. Combining pounding percussion, atmospheric textures and traditional Nordic folk influences, the track draws inspiration from mythological figures including Ymir, Bergelmir, Þrúðgelmir, Bölþorn, Bestla and Hræsvelgr.
