Other Half release new music video for ‘Tiny Head’
OTHER HALF have released a new music video!
The new music video, for the track Tiny Head, is taken from the Norwich-based post-hardcore trio’s upcoming debut album, Big Twenty, which is scheduled to be released in August, via Venn Records.
The new music video was directed and filmed by bassist Sophie Porter, and sees the band enjoying a socially-distanced ice cream together during the blazing heat of lockdown, with the resultant melting mess serving as an apt metaphor for the murky story of the song itself.
Speaking about the new song, vocalist Cal Hudson says, “Tiny Head is a sad little pop song about being groomed, used and cut loose without ever really knowing about it. It finds a new set of particularly shitty narrators pulling strings, extracting the last juicy bits from an already pretty spent group of people, providing some validation through humiliation. I suppose it’s a lazy metaphor for our old friend capitalism, getting off on watching us all helplessly squirm around. It’s the most melodic thing on the record, swapping out some of the bile for something with a little more swagger. I’d like to think it operates somewhere between the gnarled pop of the PIXIES and the boozy swank of THIN LIZZY.”
