Mountain Caller announce debut album ‘Chronicle I: The Truthseeker’
MOUNTAIN CALLER have announced their debut album!
Titled Chronicle I: The Truthseeker, the upcoming album from the heavy progressive instrumental trio is their debut full-length effort and is scheduled to be released in November this year, via New Heavy Sounds.
The upcoming album was recorded in January of 2020 at No Studio in Manchester by producer Joe Clayton of PIJN, and mastered by Magnus Lindberg of CULT OF LUNA. Chronicle I: The Truthseeker is a feminist allegory created in tandem with the music. Speaking about the upcoming album, the band says, “in The Truthseeker, we join The Protagonist at the edge of the Twilight Desert, compelled by an indefinable but urgent need to set forth on an Odyssean journey to rediscover her memory and her voice. Over the course of 42 minutes, we travel from barren wastelands to mysterious cities, encountering trials of both body and spirit.”
Alongside the announcement of the debut album, the band have released the first song from the upcoming album; Journey Through The Twilight Desert. Speaking about the new song, drummer Max Maxwell says, “Journey is a perfect introduction to our band. The extreme dynamics, the riffs, and the soundscapes, all of which define the band for us, are all there. Conceptually, the song is about exploration: of an unknown, barren, perilous land, and of the limits of one’s own untapped potential and capabilities. It was a turning point for us, the song where we really started to incorporate more off-kilter influences, and where each of us really found our instrumental voices within the band. It’s very dear to us, as is all our music, and we’re so excited for it to be everyone’s first taste of what’s to come!”
