Molybaron announce new album ‘The Mutiny’
MOLYBARON have announced a new album!
Titled The Mutiny, the upcoming album from the French-Irish alternative metal band is their sophomore outing and is scheduled to be released in May this year, via self-release.
Speaking about the upcoming album, frontman Gary Kelly says, “the theme of many of the lyrics in MOLYBARON’s debut album were highly influenced by the hysteria surrounding the 2016 US election and the corporate owned mainstream media fanning the flames. This time around I wanted to bring it closer to home and make the narrative easier to write about, so many of the lyrics are pretty personal to me, or people close to me. The overriding theme of the songs describe the uphill struggle to overcome mental health issues – depression, guilt, drug and alcohol use.
The challenge of evolving the music to the next level and finding our sound was extremely satisfying on the one hand, physically and emotionally exhausting on the other… but you cannot have one without the other. I’m very proud of it.”
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming record; Animals.
