Abbath to co-headline Damnation Festival 2016

After teasing that Damnation Festival is due to feature three main stage headliners this year, the first has been announced as ex-IMMORTAL frontman ABBATH.

After a London release show for his self-titled debut solo album back in January, ABBATH is set to appear at Damnation as a UK exclusive performance. He joins previously announced acts ENSLAVED who will headline the Terrorizer stage, NAILS, AKERCOCKE, FULL OF HELL, OCEANS OF SLUMBER, BOSSK, BLACK TUSK, and NE OBLIVISCARIS.

ABBATH says about the announcement: “I feel honoured and privileged. Leeds shall fall!”

Damnation had previously stated that they planned to book three headliners for the main stage for this year’s event, one black metal, one doom metal, and one post-metal, each with at least an hour of stage time. The doom metal and post-metal headliners are still yet to be announced.
