Akercocke announce new album ‘Renaissance In Extremis’
AKERCOCKE have announced a brand new album!
After returning from hiatus last year by performing at Bloodstock Festival and a short run of UK tour dates, the influential metallers have announced a brand new album, titled Renaissance In Extremis, the band’s first studio effort in ten years. The upcoming album was mixed by Neil Kernon [NILE/DEICIDE/THIN LIZZY/YES] and was mastered in NYC by Alan Douches [DEATH, MISFITS, CROMAGS] at West West Side Music and will be released via Peaceville Records. Speaking about returning to Peaceville, founding member and drummer David Gray says, “AKERCOCKE are proud and privileged to be returning to Peaceville Records this year for our new album, our first release for ten years. Peaceville unleashed the band on the wider metal community and were responsible for laying the foundations of our two-decade history. Therefore, it is wholly appropriate that they assist us once again in our mission to pursue quality progressive death metal to the masses!”
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band has also revealed the first glimpse into the new album through the release of the single Disappear. Speaking about the new song, vocalist/guitarist Jason Mendonca says, “Disappear gives a summary insight of all that follows on Renaissance in Extremis. It contains all of the classic AKERCOCKE hallmarks, yet aptly represents the bands development in intent, style and delivery.”
