ALBUM REVIEW: Keep It Quiet – Greyhaven

In recent years, GREYHAVEN are reaping the rewards of their persistence. 2025 has seen them tour extensively across the US and Europe as well as an impressive outing supporting BETTER LOVERS in the UK. 2022’s This Bright And Beautiful World was widely regarded as a landmark release for the Kentucky natives and freshly released follow-up Keep It Quiet, which is available now via Solid State Records, looks to further build on this momentum.

Prelude: Evening Star kicks proceedings off with an eccentric but alluring melody that suddenly bursts into an explosion of scathing aggression just as you are beginning to settle into the tempo. Shatter And Burst picks up the pace with energetic drumming and a chaotic energy. Hefty riffing also contributes to the abrasive soundscape. Show Me Where You Are is packed with an array of heaviness and vibrancy that dynamically twist and turn to keep you on your toes. The chorus segment is particularly enticing.

Burn A Miracle possesses a frenetic, stomping nature. Colourful hooks navigate their way through an emphatic grittiness. Where The Light Leaves Us immerses you in its vulnerable waves as surges of emotion rush to the surface amongst the eruptions of wild instrumentation. Night In October harbours an intriguing yet infectious flow as it ominously meanders. The track shifts in shape as it progresses, depicting a variety of moods.

Technicolor Blues brings forth a soulful style, utilising acoustic tones to heighten its honest expressions. A distinct catchiness leaves you with a wealth of memorable moments. Satellite In Love delves back into the more vigorous side of their repertoire. Potent screams intertwine with charged drum sequences. This mentality drifts into From The Backseat Of A Moving Car as intricate riffing is unleashed in formidable flourishes.

The dramatic pacing of Diamond To Diamond proves to be effective, luring you in with its infectious, buoyant energy as it escalates. Cemetery Sun ensures this release leaves on an exhilarating note. Skilful hooks and plentiful grooves inject a sudden swell of adrenaline before departing.

GREYHAVEN have done the absolute opposite of what the album title suggests by crafting their most fierce effort to date. Keep It Quiet neatly traverses through various genres whilst still maintaining a cohesive swagger. For those who enjoy diving further into the context behind the lyricism, there are a wealth of personal, vulnerable topics to decipher betwixt the punchy melodies and intense flurries. A bold statement from a band who feel like they’re starting to realise the full potential of their powers.
