Alex Melton announces new album ‘The Process’

ALEX MELTON has announced a brand new album!

Titled The Process, the upcoming debut full‑length from Florence, SC‑based multi‑instrumentalist is set to be released on March 3rd, 2026 via Pure Noise Records. Known for transforming punk songs into country‑influenced renditions – garnering millions of streams in the process – Melton now turns his focus to a full collection of original material.

Produced and co‑written by Alan Day of FOUR YEAR STRONG, The Process marks a new chapter in Melton’s artistic evolution.

Speaking about the upcoming album, Melton shares, “I’ve spent a lot of my life working towards goals. That’s how things are designed for us: get diploma, get degree, get job, get house, retire, end of level. So much time spent working toward the prize. Putting so much importance on the ringing of the bell, being able to say DONE. I DID IT. But that’s so fleeting, that feeling of accomplishment. We actually spend far more time in the middle of it all, planning, working, thinking, thinking, thinking, anticipating.
What if the whole point of it was to enjoy the middle portion? To be present, and find joy in the small moments along the way? Would that make things better, would I be happier? Is it even possible to conceptualise moments as they happen?

The Process is my attempt at answering these questions, to focus on the things that bring me joy while acknowledging the things that keep me from fully embracing that joy. Frustration, anxiety, worry, the unjust nature of the world. It all feels so unfair. But still we exist, we attempt to thrive, and we love. That process, that feeling of striving for better, is exactly where we can find the meaning that we were brought here to find. It’s not easy, and it’s not always fun, but it can be filled with moments that stay with you forever. To live fully is to be everything at the same time, good days are bad days and everything in between. It’s all part of the process.”

Alongside the announcement, ALEX MELTON has released the album’s new single Look Up. Speaking about the track, he says, “Look Up is a song about self-sabotage. Anxiety can make all the hypothetical worries seem so real. If you react according to your anxiety, then those worries were destined to become real. It takes a lot of work to break that self-fulfilling loop, but it starts with looking up. It starts with being eye-to-eye with your worries, problems, thoughts, and finding the beauty in the process of existing within them.”
