Arhios release new music video for ‘Daria’
ARHIOS have released a new music video!
The new music video, for the track Daria, is taken from the French alternative instrumental rock trio’s upcoming debut album Miscible, which is scheduled to be released in March this year. It follows their previous single Bachibouzook, and the video was directed by Mathieu Ezan.
Speaking about the new song, the band comment, “Daria is the most melancholic and nostalgic track on the album. It’s a track that echoes mourning and absence, all the phases that we can go through in these moments. Its history is particular because it was composed in several stages. One of the first sketches dates back to 2019. At the time, Mathieu Ezan had a crush on it and was already talking about a video project… While composing the album, new ideas came up, as well as a new framework. We incorporated part of the first demo, before finalising the composition. When the question of the video came up, we had no doubt that Mathieu would direct it. We gave him carte blanche on what he wanted to express, leaving room for his personal interpretation of the song. This directly resonated with the evocations and images we had of the world of Daria. It’s a special and symbolic single for us, and it marks a long-standing friendship and collaboration with Mathieu, many thanks to him!”
Videographer Mathieu Ezan adds, “This video is a representation of what passion can be. You can love it madly and hate it with the same intensity in the highs and lows. The couple we see in the image is a symbol of this: at one moment they are obviously in love with each other, complicit and caring, and the next they are torn apart or in doubt. The idea was to highlight the evolution of such a relationship, showing that it is never all black or all white, and that unfortunately it has its limits. But the sometimes extreme intensity of these feelings means that whatever the outcome, this passion will mark us for life.”
