Atreyu announce new EP ‘The Hope Of A Spark’
ATREYU have announced a new EP!
Titled The Hope Of A Spark, the new EP from the American metalcore band is the follow up to their 2021 full-length Baptize and is scheduled to be released in April this year via Spinefarm. The EP was produced by the band’s long-time collaborator John Feldmann and will feature the already released single Drowned.
Speaking about the new EP, frontman Brandon Saller comments, “The overarching concept is essentially about the seasons of life. Everyone goes through the same things, the ups, and downs of life. The emphasis really is the importance of at least respecting those, and finding the positives and the lessons from even your lowest moments.”
Alongside the announcement of the EP, the band have released a new music video for the EP’s second single Watch Me Burn. The video directed by Aaran McKenzie, bassist of WHILE SHE SLEEPS, and features English actor Leigh Gill (Joker, Game of Thrones, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them).
Speaking about the new song, bassist Marc ‘Porter’ McKnight comments, “To, me it’s a song about being cleansed by fire. Whatever it is that’s bringing you down and holding you back, burn it down. Use it, learn from it, move on, and grow. That thing does not deserve you and you don’t deserve it.”
Saller adds, “It’s very relatable to all of us individually, but it’s also incredibly pertinent to the journey of this band.”
