Black Lakes release new music video for ‘Verity In Flames’

BLACK LAKES have released a new music video!

The new music video, for the track Verity In Flames, is taken from the South Wales-based alternative metal band’s latest studio album, For All We’ve Left Behind, which was released back in February.

Speaking about the song, frontman Will Preston says, “whilst Verity can be used as a girl’s name, the word also means truth. The song is a social commentary on the notion of a ‘post’ truth society, and the fact that even the notion of ‘post’ truth exists. In a world where phrases like ‘alternative facts’ and ‘my truth’ exist, the echoes to an Orwellian dystopia are as terrifying as they are stark. Verity makes clear that whilst the truth may be burning, in embers she remains, just waiting to rise again, and be discovered. It’s in this last line that we counterpoint the anger of the song, with a sense of optimism that the truth will out amongst the panic and despair of our current societal norms.”
