Blodet release new song ‘The Hour’
BLODET have released a brand new song!
The new song, titled The Hour, is taken from the Swedish doom-meets-post-metal band’s upcoming new album, Death Mother (the follow-up to 2021’s Vision EP), which is scheduled to be released in September this year, via Church Road Records.
Speaking about the new song, the band says, “The Hour is a song that has undergone several different iterations. And with each new one, we removed more and more until only the rhythm with the drums and the bass remained. That’s how we work. We build something big and bombastic and then we take it apart to find the essence of the music. We enjoy playing it and it brings out a lot of emotion. It’s also special as it was the last song Rickie worked on with the band before he passed away. When you’ve reached the lowest point and the tide finally changes. That’s when you rise!”

For the new album, The band found the writing and recording process incredibly difficult with the passing of their
long time friend and guitarist Rickie after a hard battle with cancer. Rickie was involved with the writing process of Death Mother and shortly after he passed, the rest of the band finished recording the album to help with their grieving process.
