Blood Mother announce debut self-titled album
BLOOD MOTHER have announced their debut album!
Rick Giordano, best known as the composer behind THE LION’S DAUGHTER, has re‑emerged under a new moniker and announced the project’s self‑titled debut album, which is set for release on June 14th independently.
The album represents a dark evolution of Giordano’s previous work, combining post‑black metal, atmospheric and synth‑driven soundscapes, and elements of Western Americana. While continuing the unruly, genre‑defying spirit that defined THE LION’S DAUGHTER, Blood Mother pushes further into themes of isolation, paranoia, violence, and terror, with Giordano describing the project as a reinvention rather than a reboot.
Alongside the album announcement, BLOOD MOTHER have unveiled the first single The Night Fires, accompanied by an official lyric video. Giordano explains, “Blood Mother is the natural continuation of THE LION’S DAUGHTER, but with a fresh slate that gives me even more freedom to experiment and time to let things breathe. There is room to dig deeper. The Night Fires was the first song written for the project and is very much a statement of intent. It establishes the serene beauty, oppressive dread, and wild violence that all take place within the world of the BLOOD MOTHER.”
