Bloodstock Festival reval 22 new bands
Bloodstock Festival have revealed 22 new bands for this year’s festival!
Following the last announcement earlier this month, that saw the likes of INGESTED, I FIGHT BEARS, NØMADUS and more announced for the UK’s biggest metal festival, now, another 22 bands have been confirmed for this year’s festival!
With ENFORCED, ALL HAIL THE YETI, and SACRED REICH unfortunately having to withdraw from the lineup, UK metallers SYLOSIS come in to replace SACRED REICH‘s slot on the main stage on Saturday whilst HEART OF A COWARD step up from The Sophie Lancaster Stage to the Ronnie James Dio Main Stage to fill the void left by ALL HAIL THE YETI. There will also be a secret set on The Sophie Lancster Stage on Friday afternoon from an internationally renown band. We’re already scratching our heads to who it could be.
Planet Rock Radio‘s competition winner, Birmingham-based modern metallers SISTER SHOTGUN land an opening slot on The Sophie Lancaster Stage on Saturday whilst Elder Scrolls themed sludge metallers THUUM will perform on Thursday’s billing. Speaking about performing at this year’s Bloodstock, SISTER SHOTGUN says, “we are so excited and honoured to be playing Bloodstock. It feels like a really special moment for us as we’ve been coming to the festival for a number of years, so to finally be on that stage performing will be incredible. We absolutely cannot wait!”
Next up, the final batch of bands from the annual Metal 2 The Masses have been confirmed for the Hobgoblin New Blood Stage. Friday sees winners from Devon & Cornwall’s final, death/thrashers MECHANIZED, Birmingham’s champions, the satanic doom duo TUMANDUUMBAND, and Stoke runners up HELLFECKTED. Saturday’s last two additions come in the shape of metallers AMBRIUS and the victors from Norway’s final, melo-death thrashers VICTION. They say, “we are beyond honoured and excited to be able to play at Bloodstock! This has been an incredible journey and we wish to thank everyone involved with Metal 2 The Masses for this opportunity, we promise to deliver an immense show and the best Norway has to offer.”
Sunday sees Nottingham’s victors DRIP FED EMPIRE, death-thrash hybrids UNBURIER, Birmingham runners-up CALLOUS HANDS, old school trad metal devotees DEVASTATOR, PROLAPSE AD, electric hardcore punks DESENSER, and DENALI.
Over on the Jagermeister Stage, ALL HAIL DOG, brutal death metallers VULGAR DISSECTION, SYNCOLIMA, BILE CASTER, and DETOXEN land slots over the festival weekend. For those who have Serpent’s Lair VIP tickets, Bloodstock have confirmed exclusive bands & DJs set, including tributes to BILLY IDOL, BRYAN ADAM, and BLONDIE (Icons On Tour on Friday), and MEATLOAF (Paul Lee on Saturday), MEZZOTINT (one for fans of FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM), funky electric blues from MARTIN FERAL, plus comedy & cabaret over the weekend. On Sunday, there will be a performance from SLIPKNOT fan CALEB H, a drummer of just seven years of age and a viral sensation who’s appeared on ITV’s Game Of Talents and The Ellen Degeneres Show. There’s also a chance to join in with some Bandioke, courtesy of REKOVERED and HELL BENT FOR METAL, the LGBTQ+ heavy metal podcast will be doing a live recording from the Serpent’s Lair.
