Chaos Reigns announce new EP ‘Sweet Violence’

CHAOS REIGNS have announced a new EP!

Titled Sweet Violence, the upcoming EP from the London-based hardcore band is their brand new studio recording and is scheduled to be released in November this year, via self-release.

Drawing influence from the distinctly more frantic end of the hardcore spectrum, CHAOS REIGNS are less focused on achieving a ‘brutal’ sound, and more so on eschewing genre clichés and tropes. “What I love about the more chaotic side of hardcore and mathcore is that anything goes,” shares bassist Billy Padmore“The bands really try to keep the listener guessing, even if by doing something as simple as adding one extra beat to a repeated phrase. This is something we were aiming for, and we’ve already seen people in the crowd paying more attention and getting thrown off guard by some of our ‘weirder’ moments.”

“We wanted to create something that cuts deep, that explores the contradictions of life – where love can turn to obsession, and where the things that drive us can also destroy us,” explains frontman Jason Heightman. Sweet Violence is a reflection of the world we live in – where the boundary between pain and pleasure, life and death, is razor-thin.”

Alongside the announcement of the new EP, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; Sins Of Success.
