Cirith Ungol announce new EP ‘Half Past Human’

CIRITH UNGOL have announced a new EP!

Titled Half Past Human, the upcoming album from the classic heavy metal band is their brand new EP and is scheduled to be released in May this year, via Metal Blade Records.

As the band made their long-awaited return with Forever Black, the globe was in the vicegrip of COVID-19. As time stood still, the band dug deep into their archival crypts, drawing back the veiled mists of history to expose long-forgotten jewels from their storied past. In so doing, the band present four songs written in a bygone era but never properly included as part of their discography.

Each song was reimagined for today and were recorded under the watchful eye of producer Armand John Anthony [NIGHT DEMON/BEWITCHER/GYGAX] in 2020. In keeping with the band’s tradition, the package is completed by cover art courtesy of acclaimed fantasy artist Michael Whelan, from the original Elric series.

Alongside the announcement of the new EP, the band have released a new song from the upcoming release; Brutish Manchild.
