Curtism release new song ‘doityourself’
CURTISM have released a new song!
The new track, titled doityourself, is taken from the French shoegaze quartet’s upcoming self-titled debut EP, which is scheduled to be released in July this year via Hazard Records. The track was originally released by the band’s singer-guitarist and principal songwriter Marin as a solo act in 2022, but has been revamped by the full band.
Speaking about the message behind the track, Marin explains, “The lyrics are quite introspective. This doityourself is as much for myself as for anyone who listens to our music, who’s not doing well and we’d like to get better. Sometimes the solution comes from yourself, hence this appeal, this incitement. It’s like a piece of advice to yourself, although it’s quite abstract. doityourself also resonates with the mentality of the tracks before this EP, where everything was 100% home-made. We’re trying to retain that spirit, although CURTISM is starting to be surrounded by professionals. It’s a marker of the transition between the band’s two periods. It’s all the more symbolic to release it as the first single!”
