D L G Z announce new album ‘Setbacks & Reversals’
D L G Z have announced a new album!
Titled Setbacks & Reversals, the new album from the experimental rock quintet from Lille is their first since 2009’s New Tricks For Old Dog and is scheduled to be released in November this year.
Alongside the announcement of the album, the band have released its lead single Bunker Up.
Speaking about the track, vocalist Stephan Hayes comments, “Bunker Up is structured like a song with verses, a chorus and a finale but with lots of cuts and breaks. It’s a bit of an epileptic ballad. It’s the most synthetic-sounding track on the album. It’s built around drums and electronic pads that weave a jolting, almost danceable rhythm that’s deliberately wobbly. It took us a while to find its final form. The tone is exalted and a little desperate at the same time, as is often the case with our work. The text revolves around the notion of confinement and evokes the way in which we can live side by side and alone at the same time.”
