Damnation Festival reveal two bands for ‘A Night Of Salvation’ pre-show
Damnation Festival have announced two bands for the A Night Of Salvation pre-show!
Following the first announcement of the main festival (featuring the likes of AMENRA, AHAB, HIGH COMMAND, HERIOT and more) last month, now, the first two names have been confirmed for the highly anticipated A Night Of Salvation pre-show.
The pre-show for 2023’s event expands on last year and will feature three stages, including a black metal focused Cult Never Dies Stage and Church Road Records stage. Leading the charge in the first announcement for the pre-show is AKERCOCKE, who will celebrate the 20 year anniversary of Choronzon in an exclusive set, whilst VIKING SKULL will return with a Chapter One 20th anniversary set.
Speaking about performing at this year’s festival, AKERCOCKE says, “we are thrilled to be gracing the Damnation stage once again. Relearning one of our most brutal albums will be an absolute pleasure.”
VIKING SKULL says, “we’re coming for you with our whiskey-swigging, bar-room-brawling, southern baked big riffs to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our 11/10 rated debut, Chapter One. We’ll be there to Pillage and Burn, so bring all your Beer, Drugs and Bitches!“
Festival organiser Gavin McInally says, “AKERCOCKE‘s Goat of Mendes set was a genuine ‘I was there’ moment and since then we’ve had 2023 circled as the chance to go one better and land the live airing of what many consider their finest hour, Choronzon. We’d argue that the Chapter One and Choronzon sets are already worth the price of admission, but fortunately we don’t have to as there’s another 13 bands to come, and then Damnation itself which will be stacked top to bottom with UK exclusive performances.”
Damnation Festival 2023 takes place at BEC Arena, Manchester on November 3rd-4th 2023. Tickets are available now and can be purchased here.
