Darko release new song ‘Built On Broken Backs’
DARKO have released a new music video!
The new song, titled Built On Broken Backs, is taken from the English hardcore punk band’s upcoming new EP, Greyscale, which is scheduled to be released in May this year, via Lockjaw Records.
Speaking about the new song, vocalist Tom West says, “the lyrics were written after I saw Tory Ben Bradley MP whining on the telly about the National Trust publishing research on colonialism. Bradley had called this research ‘woke’ and had expressed concerns in a 2020 BBC interview that it tarnished the legacy of iconic British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Conservatives who call history ‘Cultural Marxism’ and claim that KNOWING THINGS is ‘anti-British’ are the ones directly thriving on the inequality propped up by ignorance. Keep people stupid, weaponise patriotism, create more Tory voters. That’s their business model, and it’s an extremely effective one.”
