Distant announce new album ‘Tsukuyomi: The Origin’
DISTANT have announced a new album!
Titled Tsukuyomi: The Origin, the upcoming album from the Dutch/Slovakian downtempo deathcore band is the follow-up to last year’s Heritage, and is scheduled to be released in November this year, via Century Media Records.
The upcoming album comes in celebration of the band’s ten year anniversary and is an expanded and revitalised new version of their debut EP Tsukuyomi. It isn’t a standard remaster or simple re-recording, but the band overhauled the original songs to reflect their current sound and vision. This release features seven brand new tracks alongside six revamped versions of songs, weaving a comprehensive tale that predates Tyrannt‘s conquest through the universe. The album contains new features (Matthew K Heafy, Alex Erian of DESPISED ICON, David Simonich of SIGNS OF THE SWARM and Travis Worland of ENTERPRISE EARTH) and a seamless blend of fresh and re-recorded tracks.
Alongside the announcement of the new album, DISTANT have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; Fleshweaver. The new song is the third single to be released from the upcoming album, following on from Loveless Suffering and The Undying.
Speaking about the new song, the band shares, “fast, heavy and straight to the point. Fleshweaver perfectly describes what DISTANT is about on the new record in its rapid carnage.”
