EP REVIEW: The Wilted EP – Paleface Swiss
In only a few years, PALEFACE SWISS have transformed from promising upstarts to modern metal frontrunners. Having already performed at some of the biggest festivals the world has to offer, 2026 is set to be another blockbuster for the band and they plan to continue their ascent with freshly released The Wilted EP, which is available now via Bloodblast Distribution.
This effort commences with the harrowing gunshot of Intro straight into the immediate intensity of Withering Flower. The caustic screams of frontman Marc ‘Zelli’ Zellweger combined with buzzsaw riffing pick up exactly where their formidable CURSED album left off. Stomping grooves and stampeding drum sequences also get this release off to a promising start. Let Me Sleep sustains the wild frenzy with adrenaline-fuelled buoyancy and rapid-fire lyricism that will be sure to cause considerable chaos coming to a circle pit near you.
Instrument Of War sees the quartet team up with STICK TO YOUR GUNS for an additional barrage of crushing ferocity. Zelli trading bars with Jesse Barnett proves to be an explosive pairing, topped off with an anthemic chorus segment. Everything Is Fine opts for an intriguing melodic approach that explores a side of their sound not yet tapped into. Emotive, clean vocals display a vulnerable, relatable tone that could be a very useful tool if explored further.
Whilst The Wilted EP may feel like just an appetiser, it is enough to give everyone a taste of what you can come to expect from PALEFACE SWISS in the future. Not intending to sit comfortably in their cleverly carved niche, their expanding arsenal may be exactly what is needed to take them to the next level.
