False Advertising announce new album ‘The Sorry Window’
FALSE ADVERTISING have announced a brand new album!
The Manchester-based alternative grunge trio have announced their new album, The Sorry Window, which is set for release on May 1st, via self-release. Work on the record began shortly after the band’s 2019 album Brainfreeze, eventually developing into a full-length.
The Sorry Window was co-produced by Luke Pickering [FONTAINES D.C., SAM RYDER, ARLO PARKS] alongside vocalist, guitarist and drummer Jen Hingley, recorded between The Church Studios in London and rehearsal spaces across Manchester, and mastered by Grammy award-winning Kevin Tuffy [TTSSFU, Metronomy] in Berlin.
Alongside the announcement, the band have released their new single Acid Rain. The track follows recent singles Don’t Ask Me and The Sorry Window, and draws on mid‑2000s pop‑punk influences filtered through the band’s alt‑rock approach. Speaking about the single, Jen Hingley says, “it’s not about sadness – it’s about feeling attacked by your own insecurity and fighting back.”
The accompanying video, filmed with Chris Forshaw and directed/edited by Hingley, uses suminagashi ink patterns shot through water to create a distorted, analogue visual effect that mirrors the track’s themes.
