FESTIVAL PREVIEW: Burn It Down Festival 2023
Since its establishment in 2018, Burn It Down Festival have slowly grown to become a solid name in the UK festival circuit. Held in the idyllic seaside of Torquay, September sees a two-day celebration of some of the best names in alternative and heavy music and 2023’s edition is no different. Boasting arguably their strongest lineup to date, Burn It Down Festival 2023 is set to bring this year’s festival season to a close in wonderous fashion.
Day one of Burn It Down isn’t an affair that eases you into the action, no. Friday sees a stacked day across The Foundry and Apple & Parrot with stage headliners, ANGEL DU$T and SKIN FAILURE respectively, bringing sets of utter mayhem. Prior to the headliners though, the festival helps showcase some of the best bands our island has to offer.
KNIFE BRIDE are on the ascendancy and will surely add further stock to their momentum, as will Bristol-based rabble RXPTRS, whilst riff merchants HEART OF A COWARD will bring a heavy offering to showcase new record This Place Only Brings Death before ANGEL DU$T. However, a one-two punch of two our best stars, HERIOT and ITHACA, will surely be some of the best sets we experience over the weekend as both bands look to continue to capitalise on their surging momentum.
Day two of Burn It Down sees the festival expand to three stages with the inclusion of The Attic, and with an additional stage, the quality on offer surges. Post-hardcore legends BEING AS AN OCEAN will headline The Foundry and will dazzle as a multitude of emotions are conjured, PANIC SHACK will bring the party to Apple & Parrot, whilst UK hardcore favourites DESOLATED will ignite bedlam at The Attic.
Elsewhere, AS EVERYTHING UNFOLDS will continue to showcase their brilliance as they continue to support new album Ultraviolet, LIZZY FARRALL will bring a wave of electronic-tinged pop-rock and invoke singalongs aplenty, DREAM STATE will continue their revival following storming sets at Radar and 2000trees earlier in the summer and SHIELDS who will play their first show in five years at this year’s festival. Combine that with the hardcore punk fury of SHOOTING DAGGERS, solid metalcore from CONTINENTS, or the slick class from ANIIMALIA and you are spoilt for choice at this year’s festival!
Burn It Down Festival will take place at The Foundry, The Attic and Apple & Parrot on September 8th-9th.
