Forlorn release new music video for ‘Hold Me’
FORLORN have released a new music video!
The new music video, for the track Hold Me, is the brand new single from the emerging UK metal band and follows on from their previous single, Redeem, Release and Old Wounds, which were released earlier this year.
The new single was produced by George Lever [LOATHE, SLEEP TOKEN, MONUMENTS] and it was written as a platonic love song, from a child to a parent, and addresses the subject of co-dependency, where a child bears witness to their parents’ struggles with addiction.
Speaking about the new single, vocalist Megan Elliott says, “I was brought up Pagan, by my mother, and have been a practicing witch all of my life. Of all the sabbats, Samhain is considered the most important to witches, with many intense energies at play. This is where we honour death as a part of the life/death/rebirth cycle. This felt like the most apt symbolism for the narrative of our latest song Hold Me. Samhain is the death stage of the cycle and is considered the most potent as it is here that the potential for all new life is manifested. This makes Samhain the most important time for reflecting on life, looking at past behaviourisms and growing. In this song I am letting go of my old self, moving into a new space of clarity, strength and acceptance.”
