Godeater announce new album ‘Vespera’
GODEATER have announced a new album!
Titled Vespera, the upcoming album from the Glasgow-based death metal band is the follow-up to 2019’s All Flesh Is Grass, and is scheduled to be released in September this year, via self-release.
The upcoming album was mixed and mastered at Studio Fredman by Fredrik Nordström in Sweden. Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; God Complex. The new song is the second single from the upcoming album, following on from The Hatchet which was released back in May.
Speaking about the new song, the band says, “a musical precursor to recent single The Hatchet, God Complex sees GODEATER lean into a groovier style we haven’t explored before. The aggression and atmosphere remain, but the song sets a different pace for the band and a renewed sense of dejection and despair begin to creep in. Previous release You Are No Exception (2020) asked ‘am I living in a nation worth saving?’ God Complex drives the answer home with offering a cutthroat depiction of the UK as an island attempting to operate on a global stage.”
