Gold Key announce new album ‘Panic Machine’
GOLD KEY have announced a new album!
Titled Panic Machine, the upcoming album from the Hertfordshire quartet follows 2017’s debut album Hello, Phantom and is scheduled to be released in May this year.
Speaking about the upcoming album, vocalist/guitarist Steve Sears says, “I think it’s way more of a rock record than Hello, Phantom. It’s more direct and urgent, which comes from recording live when you’re feeding off one another’s energy in one room. I think there was a danger, last time around, of people looking at our collective CVs and considering this just a diversion or a hobby project. That’s absolutely not the case, we’re all fully committed to GOLD KEY, and to how far we can take this music. We’re so unbelievably proud of what we captured in that cottage. It’s real. It’s liberating. It’s us.”
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; titled Don’t Sleep. Speaking about the new song, Sears says, “Don’t Sleep is about insomnia and the tricks it plays on your mind. In fact, I wrote it half asleep which is why the lyrics and the music flit between reality and nonsense. Creating late at night is sometimes the only way I can empty my brain and get some rest.”
