Growth announce new album ‘Under the Under’
GROWTH have announced a brand new album!
The Melbourne progressive death metal outfit have announced their long‑awaited second album, Under The Under, which is set for release on March 27th via Wild Thing Records. Acting as the follow‑up to their 2020 debut The Smothering Arms of Mercy, the record continues the band’s planned trilogy exploring trauma, collapse, recovery and the uncomfortable spaces in between.
After more than half a decade away, Under The Under finds the band stepping into the harsh terrain that follows survival – confronting identity, memory and the violent work of reconstruction.
Alongside the album announcement, the band have released their new single Remember Me As Fire, the first chapter of this second instalment.
Written from the perspective of existing “below rock bottom,” the track explores the moment where self‑erasure feels easier than self‑awareness, before shifting toward a fragile, uneasy spark of possibility. Fire here represents painful recognition rather than triumph – awareness as something consuming and necessary. The track follows directly from where …Mercy ended, expanding the band’s uncompromising narrative into even more vulnerable territory.
