Hangman’s Chair announce new album ‘A Loner’
HANGMAN’S CHAIR have announced a new album!
Titled A Loner, the upcoming album from the Parisian doom metal band is the follow-up to 2018’s Banlieue triste and is scheduled to be released in February next year, making their label debut at Nuclear Blast Records.
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; An Ode To Breakdown. The new song is the second single to be released from the upcoming album, following on from October’s release of Loner, and its accompanying live video showcases the band’s show at this year’s at-home edition of the legendary Hellfest.
Speaking about the new song and the upcoming album, the band says, “An Ode To Breakdown was clearly meant to be the first song of our new album A Loner. Our new direction, especially sound wise, is perfectly represented by this track. The cover is also a new direction for us, in contrast of the lyrics, light was chosen. White and neons as the new outfit. We asked the photographer Christopher De Bethune and the illustrator Dehn Sora to tell us what loneliness means to them. An old man, a bench and the world around. Waiting for nothing.”
