Head with Wings announce new line-up
Progressive rockers HEAD WITH WINGS have announced a new-line up!
After the release of their album From Worry to Shame in June this year, music fans and critics were elated with what was delivered. The production of their debut album saw numerous line-up changes, but time has served founding members Joshua Corum (vocals/guitars) and Brandon Cousino (guitars) well as they announce their new and said to be strongest line-up to date.
After standing in to be the band’s drummer, Mike Short now moves onto being another guitarist, whilst the return of drummer Andrew Testa who left the band in 2016 will get a pleasing response from fans. Steve Hill will be joining HEAD WITH WINGS as their bassist after meeting Corum and Cousino on a run of acoustic performances in 2016.
Speaking about the new line-up Corum is excited, “HEAD WITH WINGS is now a quintet! Testa coming back on drums means that we no longer have to move forward with the fear of our drum sound changing in a unnatural or hasty fashion, which is something of a luxury. Despite there being some new faces in the band, we’ve maintained key elements of the HEAD WITH WINGS sound, that can now flourish as we continue to develop new songs and perform current material with Mike and Steve.” Continuing “Mike internalised my guitar work for the live show but he has a style that is uniquely his own. Steve internalised Joe’s bass work but he brings a comprehensive theoretical edge with insight that was previously missing. The fusion of all of these elements leaves us with an ensemble that retains what we’ve always loved about doing this project along with the potential for new, exciting musical opportunities on and off the stage.”
