Hypno5e announce new album ‘Sheol’
HYPNO5E have announced a new album!
Titled Sheol, the upcoming album from the French cinematic metal band is the follow-up to 2019’s A Distant (Dark) Source, and is scheduled to be released in February next year, via Pelagic Records.
“In the Hebrew Bible, Sheol is the place where all souls meet after their death, to remain in silence and to turn to dust once more,” explains main songwriter Emmanuel Jessua about the album title. “Sheol is the story of what was before that night. The two albums are built, like the myth of Sysyphus, in a cycle. Sheol begins where A Distant (Dark) Source ends and where Sheol begins.”
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; Sheol – Part II – Lands Of Haze. The new music video was first premiered via Metal Injection. Speaking about the song and its accompanying music video, the band says, “the video clip for Sheol Part II… was shot in Mont Ventoux in the south of France during a cold, intense stormy night with much rain and fog; perfect for the mood and tone of the track. We chose this place specifically because of its distinctive landscape that looks like another planet, full of desolation and life – making the scenery incredibly poetic.”
